Cycling Hub Opens Under NCP Car Park, opposite Bradford Town Hall

Bradford has a new home for cycling, right in the heart of the city. Bradford: Capital of Cycling is really happening and we’re super excited about it!  Amongst many other things, it is now offering secure cycle storage and changing rooms in the City Centre (the cost is a pound and all profits go to Bradford Disability Sports and Leisure).

Bradford: Capital of Cycling Hub are moving in, under the NCP Car-park (formerly the running shoes shop) where they’ll be offering bike art workshops, bike maintenance, training and secure cycle storage. Also, thanks to the super generous Forsters College, we hope to be using 9 Aldermanbury – the former Forster’s Bistro – a fantastic venue right in City Park to display vintage bicycles and host cycling and related events.

Capital of Cycling is a coalition between Bradford Cycle Club, Bradford Cycle Campaign, BDSL, The Bikery, Choices for All at Bradford Students Union and a number of other cycling organisations and individuals in Bradford. Their website says: “Come talk to us about how we can cooperate to further the cause of cycling for fun, fitness, environment and transport in the district”.

“We will be running a range of exciting and wacky cycling events in the run up to the Tour de Yorkshire and we also be providing services to cyclists from our central hub homes. These will include Cycling Campaign drop-in sessions, bike loans, training for kids and adults, disability friendly cycling and much more!”

Capital of Cycling have been supported by Bradford MDC, Forsters College, The Bradford Hotel, Skippo Arts and The National Lottery.
