Take a look at our selection of fantastic ride routes
The Bradford District contains some fantastic routes to ride for families and groups, from beginners through to the most hardened road cyclists or off-road mountain-bikers, there will be something for you. Make no mistake, if you know where to go and what resources are available – Bradford is great for cycling. In fact, that’s what this site is all about. We want to connect you with the cycling community, resources and places in Bradford – to get more people riding here, more often and more enjoyably. We’ve made a selection of some of the most famous routes.
Like many cities we have our “‘interesting’ driving zones – but infrastructure is being built which will help with feeling safer in the more urban zones, and training is available to make you a more confident cyclist, should you want it. Excitingly, projects such as the City Connect (which links Leeds to Bradford with Dutch style segregated cycle paths) and new off-road routes such as from Shipley to Bradford are under development and will make a positive impact over the coming years on urban cycling. And if you want beautiful scenery and quiet roads, you don’t need to go far – try Ilkley to Bolton Abbey, or an off-road pootle down the canal from Saltaire.
Whatever you do – enjoy your ride.
