Phase 1 – Leeds to Skipton Canal Improvements – Kirkstall to Shipley
CityConnect, in partnership with the Canal & River Trust, have made significant improvements to the towpath of the Leeds-Liverpool canal, from Leeds city centre through to Skipton. This work has included surfacing, access improvements and new signage.
Phase 2 – Airedale Greenway Canal Improvements – Silsden to Riddlesden
A continuation of the Airedale Greenway is planned to complete the connection of all the main towns in Bradford District that skirt the Leeds-Liverpool Canal. As such it will connect the towns of Silsden and Keighley, and Bingley and Shipley with a continuous, high-quality surface. As a result, Silsden will enjoy much improved connections to the other towns of Airedale and the wider region.
